The Biannual Get Involved Foundation Community Engagement Award recognizes high school students for their meaningful service work and dedication to improve their local communities. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Katie Rueff

Katie is a junior at Gunn High School. For her service project, she volunteered with Canopy, a local non-profit tree-planting organization. Read more here.

Kiara Jacob

Kiara is a senior at Inventure Academy in Bangalore. She started Project Avesta, a program to help educate disadvantaged kids in her community. Read more here.

Sania is a high school student at Plano West Senior High School. She is the co-founder of an organization named Revive that focuses on mental health. Read more here.

Sirihaasa is a current sophomore at University High School in Illinois. Her greatest project has been the Dream Code Project in partnership with Girl Scouts. Read more here.

Leslie is a junior at Sonoma Valley High School who helped La Luz as a Census Ambassador Lead by spreading information regarding the census. Read more here.

As a former intern and current board member, Victoria has done various projects with Get Involved to give back to the community and grow as a person.

Armita Hosseini

Armita is a junior at Alexander Mackenzie High School who combined her love for economics and teaching to create a camp for personal finance. Read more here.

Hannah initially joined Get Involved as an intern to teach kids to code. Now she is on the board and helps out on a variety of projects like the curriculum, website, and blog.
